When you have a cash flow emergency, paying a bill on time can become difficult. Having a place to come pay where it posts to your account usually within 2-3 business days (expedited is available on same bills and can post the same day), and in many cases will save you on late fees, which depending on the vendor can be a considerable amount of money.
This is why we offer Bill Payment service through Global Express. The fee varies by vendor, but typically runs around $1.50 per bill. You have access to a multitude of vendors (click here for a complete list), but don’t hesitate to call (or use live chat) to find out if we take payments for your particular bill. Since we post the payment online, the payment will usually get credited within 2-3 business days. Some vendors will delay service cut-off if you can provide them with proof of payment, which usually means providing them with the confirmation number of the Bill Payment transaction.
Although it does take a couple of minutes the first time you come in to pay a bill, the next time you come in to pay that same bill, your information will already be in the system and the transaction can be completed more quickly.
We also recommend filling out a signature card when you come in to pay the bill and asking the teller to put it under your name in our system which is separate from the Global Express bill payment system. This will help us to review your transaction history if you need to confirm an activity such as to when you paid a bill, etc.
Although Global Express provides a list of eligible vendors on their website, we recommend checking with us, for the most recent additions and deletions from that list.
For each new vendor to whom you are paying a bill, you must bring in the original portion of the bill that has the account number on it. This way we know that we are entering all of the information correctly. Once you have paid a particular bill, the bill payment system will hold that information, and you will be able to use a subsitute form as long as you know what the account number is.
We do not require you to set up in our system to do a Bill Payment. However, we recommend filling out a signature card when you come in to pay the bill and asking the teller to run the payment through your account in our system which is separate from the Global Express bill payment system. This helps us to find out information such as to when you paid a bill, etc much more easily.
Q: I paid my bill at 1 of your locations, but the vendor is saying that it is not paid. What do I do?
